A technician might be required to attend to your premises to complete the installation and make sure you are connected to the NBN network.
If an installation appointment is required, you or an authorised person over 18 years of age will be required to be at the premises on the day of the technician visit..
Is the NBN connection box a modem?
Fixed Wireless, Fibre to the Curb (FTTC), Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), and Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) all have a nbn™ installed device that acts as the modem. This means these connections only require a router for WiFi.
Should you turn off NBN modem at night?
Hey @xt20man, You should leave your NBN supplied equipment on. The amount of electricity it uses is minor, and even with the power blackouts, the NBN battery should kick in automatically. Of course, you can turn off your router/gateway if you want.

You should keep them with the house as each modem is setup for that premises. It’s useless outside of that premises (unless you do nasty things to it). So your new property you won’t be able to use it.
